In 2020, Stephen cofounded Sharp Capital Advisors to apply institutional‑quality transaction expertise to the rapidly evolving legal cannabis industry, where access to traditional capital and experienced advisors has historically been limited. Under his leadership, Sharp provides M&A advisory, debt and equity financing, special situations, and corporate governance guidance to cannabis operators, investors, and related businesses.

Prior to launching Sharp, Stephen was Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Livingstone Partners, an international middle-market investment bank. At Livingstone, he played a key role in driving strategic growth, business development, and client relationships, helping expand the firm’s global footprint and establish it as one of the most active middle‑market advisors globally.

Prior to Livingstone and Sharp, Stephen served as a Managing Director at Brown Gibbons Lang & Co. and Lazard, advising middle market‑companies on mergers and acquisitions.

He is committed to using his platform to give back to the people and communities adversely impacted by the War on Drugs. To that end, Steve sits on the board for BUILD (Broader Urban Involvement & Leadership Development), one of Chicago's leading gang intervention, violence prevention, and youth development organizations, and has committed to donate a portion of Sharp’s annual profit to the nationally recognized organization.
